Principle of the Sliding Bi-Blocks Insulator PDF Print E-mail

Until today, to replace a mono-block insulator, it is necessary to raise the rail and to release the insulator head. This operation requires to dismount a total of seven insulators to replace only one.

But the Third-Rail Insulator can be replaced very easily, without moving the rail. The only insulator to dismantle is the one to be replaced.

This patented concept improves the mechanical limits, the electrical performance and the corrosion resistance. Thus, the benefits are:

  • An improved emergency repair
  • An optimized preventive maintenance
  • A minimized manpower cost
  • A reduced product cost by changing only the top
